Brief history:
Well, I can't tell you a lot about this one I'm afraid except that it is hard to find! It is certainly not on the main road to Noosa as the address states, this Noosa road is some distance from the main Highway. This drive-in has no frontage to the street other than two narrow access driveways that lead to the drive-in at the rear of a row of houses.

Adults $6, children $3 looks about 10 years since this place last sold a ticket.

Someone must know the reason for the curious name. Peter Berret wondered if all the staff wandered around in kilts! If you live anywhere near Gympie, you need not fear, there is a drive-in close by. The Wonga drive-in (see page on this site) is alive and kicking. It is soon to add a second field with a giant new screen. They also have real hamburgers with beetroot, so what are you waiting for, take a last look at the Gympie Scottish and then head for the Wonga drive-in.

Snack bar and projection building sitting neglected.

The Scottish screen skeleton at the foot of several backyards. This is as close to a house as I've ever seen a large drive-in screen. Imagine the shadows when it still had its cladding!

I'm not sure if I like this photo or not. Speakers, posts and junction boxes sitting in the sun, a great find, but sad that it will be demolished soon and dissappear forever.

Buddy's hamburger rating 7/10.
